| Our HistoryThe vision to establish a school for adults to continue their Biblical education in a more academic setting began many years ago under the direction of Pastor Peter Bisset, the founding pastor of Arlington Baptist Church. That dream became a reality in 1969 when the Arlington Bible Institute opened its doors for the first time. Soon the need arose for a Bible College to continue the education of those graduating from the Institute, and Arlington Bible College opened its doors in 1977. Under the direction of Pastor Bisset and Dr. Zomaya Solomon, the College and Institute grew quickly and soon began offering graduate degrees in addition to the Certificates in the Institute and the Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in the College. In 1987, Dr. Solomon stepped down from his position as Dean of the College and Institute, and Rev. John Percy was chosen to replace him. Rev. Percy led the College and Institute for many years under the direction of Pastor Peter Bisset (until he was called home to glory in 1995) and then under the direction of Pastor Paul Andrews. In 2008, Pastor-Teacher Mark Bouslog was called of God to lead the flock at Arlington Baptist Church. As the pastor-teacher of the church, he serves as the President of the College and Institute. Through the years, the College has had an average enrollment of 80 or more students each semester. Over 1,800 students have completed one or more courses, and more than 200 degrees have been granted. |
